The Grow Cook and Eat Project

Welcome to the 'Grow, Cook and Eat Healthy Together' project! Our mission is to bring the young and elderly members of our community together, creating valuable connections while learning about growing vegetables, cooking healthy food on a budget, and eating together.

The project's main goal is to build a cohesive community, providing an opportunity for young people to gain valuable experience and skills, and reintroducing the elderly members into the community. The program will teach young people how to grow vegetables and herbs in local allotments, prepare and cook fresh food on a budget, and serve it to the elderly residents once a week, providing an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Our program consists of two 2-hour sessions each week, one on Wednesdays and the other on Fridays. During Wednesday's session, participants will learn recipe collection and development, budgeting, ingredient shopping, and gardening, with the help of local guest speakers.

On Fridays, young participants will put their new skills to use and cook fresh meals for the elderly residents, people suffering from mental health issues, and anyone struggling to make ends meet. We will all eat together, sharing our delicious and healthy meals and enjoying the benefits of building connections across generations.

Join us for this meaningful project, which not only teaches valuable skills but also builds stronger community ties. We look forward to seeing you there!
